Local Partnerships

Local Partnerships is one of the six bodies that form the Local Government Group overseen by the Local Government Association (LGA) though, unlike the others, it is jointly owned with HM Treasury. It incorporates the services previously offered by the 4ps.

The role of Local Partnerships is to provide the public sector with commercial expertise and experience, in particular around developing and implementing complex projects and partnerships covering the public and private sectors. It works with all councils, local authorities and public services across health, policing, emergency services and education.

It is funded by a mix of money 'top-sliced' from local authorities' Revenue Support Grant (RSG) payments from the UK government, grant funding from UK government departments, and fee income from chargeable services.

The current Chairman is Edward Lord. John Carleton was Chief Executive between 2009 and 2010.
